Searching for Dark Matter
using various detector technologies

Kamaha’s research group is focussed on contributing to the ongoing worldwide effort to directly discover and probe the nature of dark matter, a hypothetical particle which makes up ~85% of the mass of our universe.

To this effect, we work on various projects aimed at optimizing some existing dark matter detector technologies and developing new ones to enhance sensitivities to potential dark matter interactions with standard model particles used as target materials within these detectors.

Our research group is called ExCaliBUR, standing for: Experimental Detector Calibrations & Background Controls for Underground Particle Physics Research. Click here to learn about the various projects and opportunities
